Pascoe hands the baton to Said for the 2019 season
Ben Pascoe, Junior Football Club President, also took the opportunity to thank the current Committee and volunteers, and announced that he will hand over the leadership of the junior club for 2019 to current Vice-President Michael Said.
"As President over the past three years, I've enjoyed challenges and rewards of leading the junior program at the Club. I am delighted to be in the position to hand over to Michael at a high point. Michael is the current Vice-President, a former Sports Club Board member and a successful coach. He has contributed significantly to the progress and success we have achieved. I can't think of anyone better to take over and I am proud to remain a member of the junior Committee under Michael's leadership and continue to serve as the Director of Junior Football on the Board."
Sports Club Board Chair Jason Cunningham praised Ben for his work:
"The Junior program has gone from strength to strength in the past three years. This isn't just measured in the number of finals matches, which has of course been tremendous, but also the number teams we have out on the ground week to week. Junior football is the heart of the football club, and over Ben's Presidency we have seen greater collaboration between junior, senior and female football to help us achieve a strong, united and inclusive club."
Ben will continue his role until the final Presentation night, after which handover will commence. Planning for 2019 will start later in the year - if you would like to get involved and join the committee, please contact Michael Said.
